Mission

You Are Here delivers opportunities and services that equip artists and community members to collaborate, innovate and participate in projects that reflect local culture and heritage, as well as projects that increase individual pride, confidence, and self-worth.

Vision

You Are Here provides material support to artists in the form of studio space and exhibition opportunities in exchange for active engagement in local creative community building through sensitive, sustainable, and relevant publicly accessible projects.  You Are Here provides community access to affordable art-making materials through a reuse center for art supplies and equipment. You Are Here manages a national network of woodcarvers who create and donate one-of-a-kind walking canes to individuals struggling with diminished mobility.

Oh, Scrap! is a thrift store for artists housed at You Are Here at 406 Clay Avenue.

Oh, Scrap! introduces the community to the creation of art from upcycled and recycled material through our Mad Lab projects. Check the Mad Lab News and the Events calendar to see what is coming up.

The “Lean On Me Cane Project” is now the “Lean On Me Project.” Our mission is to provide expanded services and art opportunities that help increase pride, confidence and self worth in one’s unique abilities. The mission of the "Lean on Me Cane Project" is to donate handmade artisan canes that help increase pride, confidence and self worth in persons with mobility impairment.

For the ones who had a notion

A notion deep inside

That it ain’t no sin

To be glad you’re alive.
