YAH Resident Artist Marion Morton is hosting recurring mushroom growing workshops at the gallery! Marion recruits the help of live mushrooms in his sculpture, and he would love to share his techniques for growing mushrooms at home.

In this workshop you can expect to learn some basic mushroom biology, how to mix your own growing medium, the conditions that yield a healthy crop of mushrooms, and some recipes for your home-grown mushrooms. In May, we grow Reishi. You’ll leave the gallery with a mushroom patch bag like the ones you can buy at the store, except YOU made this one! It doesn’t get any fresher than that.
