Bat Country Revisited
September 25 – November 7
Journey back to our favorite place, Bat Country! In the mythology of many cultures, bats are symbols of the underworld where people live in shadows. But some cultures shed a positive light on bats viewing them as a symbol of good luck: a symbol that something good was about to happen. And, indeed, it is so!
This year Bat Country will be a festival beginning in mid-August with mask and puppet workshops, led by Natalie Condrac, to prepare us all for taking part in the Jeannette Halloween Parade in late October. Our exhibition kicks off in September with a weeklong residency with singer/songwriter/painter Kepi Ghoulie, and will include works by Natalie Condrac, Kara Zuzu, Jen and Mary, and more! Everyone is invited to participate and become a citizen of Bat Country.
