Satellite Artist Update

My sewing clips have arrived! For those interested, I ordered from Amazon the MumCraft Multipurpose Sewing Clips that came with this cute yellow tin.

I noticed during the initial piecing of the half-square triangles that the safety pin method I used wasn’t really working for me. I thought last time was because of using double-layer gauze fabric, so fluffy and shifty. I read somewhere it was akin to “wrestling a cloud.” Not that far off! Very nice to touch for hand sewing though, just gotta let go of those precise pattern expectations!

Similar issues of mismatched edges and corners happened with this project though, that is a more standard cotton fabric that isn’t so loosy goosy.

My hope is that these clips will make it a lot easier to sew the rows accurately and without having to add extra punctures to the fabric!

As always: If anyone following along would like to donate, batting, fabric, textiles, lace, ribbons, beads and other sewing notions: please contact You Are Here. If I’m about to embark on machine sewing, these projects will be completed much more quickly! As such, more textiles and notions will be desperately needed.

Thanks for stopping by and happy sewing!
