March Flowers

The tree branches are bare and look vulnerable against the shifting watercolor sky, but the breeze is warm and bird songs have begun to fill my ears.

Winter felt especially long,
and moody clouds in muted tones overtook my canvases,
but daffodil sprouts have begun to peek through the soil, and
I dip my paintbrush in the vibrant hues of spring.

I am so moved by flowers, but I especially cling to the metaphors of a daffodil --
little vessels of hope emerging from winter’s cold ground.
I look forward to what brushstrokes and blooms will emerge in the following weeks and can’t wait to share them with you.

Until then,
~Stacey
